The “Amazins” ended April on a good note crushing the Phillies 9-1. When the season was a week and a half underway, the Mets looked terrible. But now they stand atop of the NL East. I think it’s only fair to say that so far I was right about them in my preseason predictions, lol.
Taking a look at my predictions for all divisions and a “where are they now?” for May 1st.
AL East - Red Sox
AL Central - White Sox
AL West - Mariners
NL Central - Cardinals
NL West - Rockies
Other than the Cardinals (and Mets), my predictions for division winners aren’t doing too well as of right now. There’s still plenty of baseball left to be played, but some teams aren’t looking as promising as they did before the season. Some teams might be stepping up too (Rays, Nationals). If the Nats call up Strasburg (sp?), they may be a true force to be reckoned with this season. The Mariners and Rockies aren’t out of the races by any means. Their entire divisions float around .500. We’ll see what happens. I gotta show extra love for the Tampa Bay Rays though. Their scouts/managers/owners are a bunch of geniuses.
Well, one month in. The Mets are looking great! LETS GO!
